Tapping into your Inner Wisdom to achieve success

What is inner wisdom?

Have you ever had a feeling in your gut that something was right or wrong, but couldn't quite explain why? That's your inner knowing at work! Think of your inner wisdom, inner knowing, or intuition as your inner compass - a guiding instrument that helps you to make powerful choices that resonate with your authentic self.

You can use this  inner wisdom as a guide for your decisions and actions.

Self-Awareness & Reflection

Finding our inner wisdom takes slowing down and tuning to our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We are able to bring our hopes, dreams, fears, and confusions into focus, to point us to the areas in our life, career or business that need attention.

Our own thoughts and feelings are the universe's nudges to you to help us move in the direction that is actually in your best interest.

Tuning in helps us recognize where we are being influenced by our fears, ego, other people's opinions and societal expectations. It is a place within ourselves, we can always come back to when we feel confused, stuck or unsure.

Channeling your inner wisdom - Cue Journaling

When we need to prioritize our commitments and responsibilities, it is helpful to “listen within”. There’s not always a logical way to determine where to best focus our time and effort. Sometimes, the situation calls for us to turn our attention inward to cultivate our inner knowing.

The idea is to ask ourselves a question about a specific situation, choice, or challenge.

There is true power in the materialization of something in writing. Sometimes we just need to be asked the right question and slow down enough to be honest with ourselves about the answer to tap into our inner wisdom.

Journal Prompts for Channeling your Inner Wisdom

You’ll need a sheet of paper, and a space to close your eyes and sit quietly.

Before every session I have with coaching clients, I send them a unique set of writing and thought prompts to consider to get the most out of our time together.

You can access prompts for channeling your inner wisdom here. Ask yourself these questions with genuine curiosity.

Fear vs. Inner Knowing

Oftentimes, our own thoughts and fears, prevent us from accessing our own inner knowing.

We fear making the “wrong” decision, so we put our decisions through the lens of other’s beliefs and opinions (our family, our culture, our community) and take them on as our own. In some cases they are true and authentic to us and sometimes that’s not actually the case.

The truth is there is no right or wrong decision, only the decision that feels right for us at this moment.

Learning to Let Go

Write whatever comes into my mind. You are channeling wisdom from deep within yourself when you let it flow onto the page.

The most important part of this step is just getting out of your own way. Try not to focus on being “right” or what you think is the “right” outcome.

Don’t stop to evaluate, just let the words (and wisdom) flow.

Clarity and Confidence

By tapping in, we’re able to bring our hopes, dreams, fears, and confusions into focus. They point us to the areas that need attention. We trust ourselves, and gain confidence knowing  we have the answers we need.

A place within ourselves, we can always come back to when we feel confused, stuck or unsure. A trusted guide for our decisions, actions and personal growth.

To having the answers you need,
